Learn How to Spot Developmental Delays Early
Tuesday April 11, 2006
A picture-perfect baby doesn't mean that parents shouldn't be on watch for developmental delays. New parents talk about height and weight milestones, yet there are developmental milestones that need to be learned and acted on early as well. April 10-14 is Community Outreach Week, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is urging parents and child care providers alike to become knowledgeable about signs of possible child developmental delays by watching how kids act, speak and play. The CDC's ongoing campaign of "Learn the Signs. Act Early." is intended to get kids treatment prior to starting school.
