From , former About.com Guide

The holidays, teacher appreciation days, and end-of-year parties are the most popular times to show appreciation to your child's teacher or child care provider. Do you buy or make a gift, and if so, what do you choose and how much do you spend?

FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS!

Dr. Schwarz’s message is both urgent and timely: “We are now in the second decade of the Web, and the good news is that many uses of interactive media can actually advance kids and bring families together. But the bad news is that the present mix of kids, families and technology is not working well. The alarming news is that while families are more easily adopting new technology, online families with kids are becoming more likely to drift apart. More than ever, we need healthy ways to bring kids, families, and technology together. Dr. Schwarz has developed a healthy and sensible way to manage children’s media lives to make the most of the great opportunities out there.” see http://www.mydigitalfamily.org and http://www.lulu.com/commerce/index.php?fBuyContent=8022198

Memory Book

My 2nd grader made a memory book for her teacher this year that included photos of all the kids in the class and some of the projects she did with the teacher. It was a nice way to say thinks (and pass on some of the artwork in my own home). Not sure if the teacher will keep it but I figure she probably doesn't get a look at a kids year like this too often.
