Guide Review - SnowPack Body-n-Ice Kit

The day after the SnowPack Body-n-Ice Kit: Active Basic arrived for a review, my almost 13-year-old son fell on concrete and suffered nasty facial and leg injuries. I was able to use one ice pack placed in the well-designed sports cover on my son's leg at the Level 1 (crushed ice feel) for relief of pain and swelling. His face and extremely swollen nose (thankfully, it was not broken) at a Level 2 level that feels like a bag of packed snow. As it thawed, it provided cold that remained flexible. We used that pack by folding it in half and wrapping it in a towel to enhance comfort. My son reviewed the product with a thumbs up, which from a tween, is a lot of communication. I also tried it with my young daughter's cheer squad. While no true injuries occurred during practice, I experimented with it on a test basis as to how quickly and effectively it could work with young kids (ages 5-8). I have decided to bring it to the squad's competitions throughout the year for fast response in the event of a sprain, twist, or knee injury that often occurs with tumblers. I also checked with my youngest son's care provider, and her comment was while the package seemed too pricey for her budget, the concept of conveniently bringing it on outings and trips was worth considering. Overall, the product's merit and convenience makes it one that should be considered by adults--especially child care providers and coaches--who want to be prepared for the unexpected.
