Maryjo: I found center through a resource handbook. I have 3 children all of whom attend Oakdale Academy. My family started there four years ago. It was a difficult decision for me to be able to return to work and leave my little ones in the care of others. I wanted to find a nurturing program tht would offer the emotional support so necessary for a young child to full secure enough to develop properly. I visited many facilities and interviewed other families at the schools as well. I then narrowed my choices down to 3 schools on the island. After very careful consideration and comparison I chose Oakdale.
Child Care Review Pros and Cons
Pros: The hours are wonderful and the location convenient. The staff is quite caring and communicative. The people are very dedicated to the children's well being. I like that everyone is trained in CPR and First Aid. I love the huge play ground they have. The classrooms are bright and cheery and super clean.Cons: The holiday closing in December and the lack of parking.
Features and Comments
Features: It offers the children the best of all worlds, day care hours with a private school curriculum. As the children grow they are supported in their learning goals and handled according to their own individual style and pace. All three of my kids are very different, one is very active and one is very shy and of course the other is right down the middle of the road-- he needs time to size up a situation and then comes out of his shell. Oakdale handled all 3 personalities with ease. I watched my children grow and develop beautifully under their tutelage. I feel they truly care about each child enrolled. My children enjoy their day and are happy and clean. I am pleased with both the administration and the staff. It offers everything I need.Comments: Fees are very reasonable and they offer a multi child discount that really helps. I found this program to be very superior to others on the island that only give you a choice between child care or education. The school does it all and offers it to the child in a non-threatening manner. It is a joy to see how my children have grown and developed emotionally, socially and intellectually during their time here. You can choose this facility and go to work with a clear head and a happy heart. They are always there to listen to parent concerns and address any issues immediately. They are great for both the parents and the children.
