Jane: I found the business by seeing the ad and sign. They bill it as a top notch preschool, but it is little more than babysitting service, and a lousy one at that.

Child Care Review Pros and Cons

Pros: The location is convenient and offers extended hours. It appeared clean & cheerful from the outside.

Cons: They did not take good care of my child. My child hated going there and would get upset at the mere mention of the place. I attributed it to separation anxiety, but other things began to happen that were not so easily explainable. For example, I witnessed the secretary antagonize and mimic cranky/tired children. Also, different age groups are condensed into one class. (this is where the bully factor kicks in).

Features and Comments

Features: About the same or maybe a bit more than other places in the area. Upon registration you are hit with lots of additional fees they don't tell you about and frequent requests for supplies, most of which the children do not get.

Comments: I spent way too much time in that place trying to resolve issues amicably with the director. All she did was pay lip service, but the care of my child never improved. I feel like my child was retaliated against each time I called the director to voice concerns. I would also get flack from the secretary (who is in charge in the directors absence, which is most of the time)each time I spoke to her boss.

Staff turnover is huge; there are new people every few weeks. I have seen staff members verbally abused by the secretary. I have also overheard infants getting shouted and cursed at by obviously overwhelmed caretakers. There is a strict closed door policy! Upon pick up, you are buzzed in, then wait at a dead-bolted door until your child is brought to you. Several times it was unlocked and I entered, only to be abruptly stopped by the secretary. Each time I was inside, the place smelled like feces. There was no communication whatsoever regarding child's progress or any potential problems. Each day I asked and would hear, "everything's fine." It is up to the child to tell the parents what is going on, and I shudder to think of a child who cannot talk.

I would not recommend this place to anyone!
