Guide Book Review: Einstein Never Used Flash Cards Great Reminder That Play Time IS Learning!
Wednesday September 22, 2004
It was easier to email a publicist to say I wanted to review a parenting book than it was actually taking the time to read it and write a review. The reason, of course, is that my over-extended, frazzled lifestyle with three children is the very family scenario discussed in the book, Einsten Never Used Flash Cards: How Our Children REALLLY Learn--And Why They Need To Play More And Memorize Less. Once I carved out the time from my insane chauffer-shuffle to really read the book, I found its message to be powerful and telling. I recommend the book for parents to put enrichment and extracurricular activities into perspective as well as for new parents who might need some extra reassurance of what constitutes quality time and whether all those "educational and stimulation toys and activities" are really necessary. Here is my review.
