September is ADHD Awareness month. The timing, I'm told, is planned to coincide with the start of the school year and a need for focus and organization to be successful at school and in life in general. My child's school nurse says that parents often come in crazed after a summer home with a possible-ADHD child, seeking treatment and potentially even medication to get order returned to the family. Plus, parents don't want their child to be the one to be disrupting the classroom either! If you suspect your preschooler or school-age child might have ADHD, don't hesitate in having him evaluated. Early identificiation and treatment helps put your child on track and can eliminate needless struggles, and the best place to start is with your pediatrician. You can also learn more about ADD/ADHD from About Guide Keath Low.

For the ADHD Awareness week it’s good to focus on abilities that inattentive and hyperactive people have. There’s a great song celebrating that things which came out recently.
