Fireworks Safety: Leave the Lighting to the Pros

Watching fireworks is a beloved tradition with my family. My kids love watching the colorful explosions from the back steps of their grandparents' lake house as they are shot over the water each summer. From their vantage point, they have one of the best and safest seating views on the lake. But each year they beg to set off some personal fireworks, and each year I resist. There are so many safety risks to consider when setting off fireworks, and I'd just assume leave the work to the pros.
