There's never a good reason to leave a child alone in a hot car
Friday June 26, 2009
A news report this week of a Texas infant being left in a hot car while a young mother "dashed into the store" served as a grim reminder about how hot weather can quickly cause injury or death to a child. In this case, the infant was okay, but the mother is being investigated for child endangerment. It's never okay to leave a child alone in a car--no matter the inconvenience--and to leave a youngster strapped into a car seat in a hot car should never happen. Each year it does, however, so consider this a friendly reminder to think about your child's health and safety first!

You are absolutely right. The 30-seconds she saved by not unbuckling her child and taking her in with her could have caused the mom a lifetime of remorse if something had happened. Not to mention that there are too many unsavory people out there who will take children right in front of their parents.
Like you said, safety first. Always!
Very important advice, in the busy life I also come across situations where once would want to just need those few minutes and can’t take the child, but it’s just not the right thing.
