Choosing the Right After-School Program

Friday January 2, 2009
With the holidays now over, school and work routines, along with family schedules, are returning to normal. For many parents, work loads may gear up with the first of the year, meaning families may opt to place their school-age kids in after-school programs to allow them some extra time in the office. Choosing the right after-school program can help reduce family stress in the evening. Many after school programs provide opportunities for a child to complete homework assignments, allow attendees to review spelling and sight words with an on-site tutor, and enjoy a snack that will tide over hunger until dinnertime. Not all after-school programs are created equally, so make sure you do your homework!
