Cold Germs Can Linger For Days

Are you like me and practically shriek at your child to not touch anything in a well-child waiting room at the doctor's office to avoid germies? Our parenting instincts are right, because new research confirms what we already believed. Cold germs can linger for days on objects touched by people infected with the rhinovirus, which causes about half of all colds. Among the areas tested? Refrigerator handles, toys, and remote controls.
