Halloween With Braces Can Still Be Sweet

Thursday October 30, 2008
Braces aren't just for tweens and teens any more. I've noticed a growing number of younger kids wearing braces and even 5 to 7 year olds being fit for expanders and what is called "starter sets," which primarily involves the front four teeth. My daughter is 10 and just got her top braces on, so I was particularly interested in the article, "Halloween with braces can be sweet" by www.braces.org. Halloween is a primary reason why October is National Orthodontic Health Month, when more orthodontic patients are seen than in other months due to brackets getting broken and kids not brushing/flossing correctly. I've got some ghoulish cupcakes in the oven right now with my daughter in mind!
