Accidental Poisonings of Young Children is on the Rise

From Robin McClure, About.com GuideOctober 23, 2008

I panicked when I dropped my tiny allergy pill on the floor this week. I had to get on my hands and knees and search everywhere, but after reading a recent report about an alarming upward trend of accidental drug poisonings of kids, I knew I could leave no kitchen tile unturned until pill was in hand. Even part of certain drugs can be lethal to a young child and parents need to be vigilent in the storing of their prescription drugs.

Scary statistics! I think I’ll go and put all medications even higher then they are now. Not just drugs need to be locked up either, but household cleaners should be kept under lock and key. My 2 year old is constantly trying to get into that cabinet as well.
