Child Safety: Keeping Kids Safe at Amusement Parks

From Robin McClure, About.com Guide   August 8, 2008

My husband's work has a family night each year at a large amusement park where we live. I love attending because the lines are short, the food is plentiful, and with fewer people it's much easier to keep track of my own kids. Taking my family to amusement parks makes me really nervous, and while everyone has a good time, I'm always on guard and a tad panicky that I could become separated from my brood. For that reason, I've generally declined to let my kids go on daycare or school related field trips to amusement parks (at their age), although my feelings will most likely change when they are older. It's hard enough for me to keep track of wildly enthusiastic and raring-to-go youngsters at amusement parks; how can chaperones accomplish it with more kids to oversee? N
