My daughter just participated in a stuffed animal drive, where most big-hearted individuals went out and purchased a new stuffed animal to give to a sick child. But when going through the collection box, I was saddened to see that a few contributions were not-so-gently-used discards. What was someone thinking, I wondered. Would any child want a dirty stuffed animal with a missing eye? Charitable giving in any fashion is typically good; just make sure that items will truly bring a smile of joy to a child's place from donations being new or only gently-used and with all pieces and parts intact!
