Dress Kids for Comfort, Not Style, at Daycare

From Robin McClure, About.com GuideDecember 12, 2006

This is the time of year when child care providers will thank me for saying this. Moms and dads everywhere, PLEASE dress your kids for comfort, not fashion statements, at daycare. Clothing merchants are currently enticing parents with lace and frills, bow ties, velvet, tulle, and glitter. Daughters transform into princesses; lads into gentlemen. And apparently, parents are quick to don these duds on their tots so they'll be cute at preschool, only to be dismayed when at the end of the day these pricey frocks are dirty, torn, frayed, or worse, in a baggie due to an "accident." (Many of these outfits are not potty-friendly.) Pretty or not, kids need to come to pre-school ready for fun and action and glam clothing saved for visits to grandparents or Santa!
