Top Trends in Child Care
Friday December 1, 2006
Child care is changing, and most parents and providers alike agree it is for the better. Today's information-age has resulted in increased communications and better security, while higher expectations and earlier academic focus has resulted in a shift from "babysitting" to "early education." Another plus? Parents are demanding (and are getting) a larger array of flexible care options too (like drop-in care). Here are top trends in child care.

I SALUTE YOU FOR THE ARTICLE ON CHILDCARE PROVIDERS. I HAVE BEEN IN CHILDCARE FOR ALMOST 30 YEARS, & LOVE IT. MORE PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE THAT WE ARE JUST AS PROFFESSIONAL AS THEY ARE: DENTISTS, DOCTORS, NURSES,ETC. WE MAY NOT WEAR A UNIFORM, BUT WE WORK AN 8 TO 9 HOUR DAY, AND MAKE LESS MONEY THAN OTHERS DO. BUT IF IT WASN’T FOR US, WHERE WOULD THE CHILDREN BE?
MOST CENTERS ARE LICENSED, AND THE STAFF HAS TO HAVE X AMOUNT OF TRAINING, POLICE & CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCE ALSO. WE ARE TRAINED IN CPR, AND FIRST AID TOO.
UNFORTUNATELY OUR PAY IS LOW, AND PEOPLE ARE SHOCKED AT WHAT WE MAKE.BUT WE LOVE OUR JOB, AND YOUR KIDS.
WHERE WOULD PARENTS BE WITHOUT US AND OUR DEDICATION!
