I was just sent information about Daycare Reviews, an online reference site for daycare centers and child care providers. It allows parents to search a database for daycares in a particular area, and the site touts that it has over 60,000 listings. It also allows individuals to post and read daycare reviews. I checked my own area, and it did feature quite a few of the facilities, although on each it had the tag line of "be the first to write a review." The concept does have merit and is interesting....what do you think?

I have been going crazy trying to find a good day care for my infant. Daycare reviews would probably be able to help. If the reviews are from parents themselves, they are more credible and will help anxious moms like me tremendously.

If only someone would write review. I looked at all the daycare centers listed in 2 cities in my area and not one review! It’s a good idea, but only if parents know about it and participate.

I just filled in a review and will monitor if it shows up. I think its a great idea too if the reviews are posted.

Check out ChildCareRatingz.com – it’s by the same guy who created the enormously successful RateMyProfessors.com.

Reviews posted at ChildCareRatingz show up on the site immediately.

Check out http://www.MonkeyScoop.com. This site allows users to post and read reviews about daycares and the reviews post immediately! (just need to register by giving name and email address which is standard). I understand that it’s being enhanced to add other features but it’s actively managed and is sure to get increased attention from parents and daycare/schools/nursery programs in near future, which in turn should make it more useful.

These reviews are a good idea but they are to easily manipulated. How do you know the providers are not writing thier own reviews. Check outDangeratdaycare.com. He provides a guide that not only helps you find a provider but also helps you verify they are high quality. I used it and boy did it ever reduce the stress of finding a good provider for my son.

That site is kind of dated. You guys should check out ReviewChildCare.com , they have more current lisitngs that cover all kind of childcare providers and also they have a parent rating system that is fair to the parents and providers.

Unfortunately I’m UK based so those don’t work for me, but I found one that did! http://www.whereforcare.co.uk does not only childcare reviews but also carehomes, which in this day and age is imperative, as well as having useful advice and a discussion board!

I think a glaring problem with most of these sites is that they aren’t very easy to navigate. All I want to do if find a great daycare for my two little guys and it takes me many clicks to even get close to something I want, if ever. The easiest daycare site I’ve found to navigate is My New Daycare .com. So much easier to navigate and I was able to find a great daycare in my area in only a couple of clicks!

The concept of rating child care providers has been a round for sometime. This site: childcarelist.com also allows parents to rate their child care providers on several key factors helping parents to make a better care choice.

Definitely check out http://www.mychildcareguide.com. It’s a national search and review website that only lists licensed providers. Many of the sites allow anyone to list themselves. This site also has state childcare licensing links to inspection and violation records on providers. They also offer step by step guides to help you ask the right questions and follow necessary steps. It’s important to gather as much information as you can on a provider before you enroll so make sure to check state records as well as parental reviews. Good luck!

I have used the same home day care for about 3 1/2 years. I have a son that just turned 4 and a daughter who recently turned two. The name of my kids day care is fullerton day care. She is an experienced mom having done day care for years. She cares just as much as that relative or best friend that you would leave your child with. If you don’t live near Long Beach than when you do look for a day care here are a few tips. I have found (after going through a couple of my own nasty experiences) that a good day care has a place that a kid can be a kid. Are there toys, does the place looked lived in or is it so clean you wish your placed looked as nice. I for one know that I am forever picking up after both my children and I never have enough time to get too everything. If a place looks too organized or too clean, beware. If there are no toys or it looks like something in a movie, take care. I’m a mom of two that works full time. My number is 562.233.4224 if you are looking for a good day care and you live near Long beach. I know of four past and current moms that have had both children at the daycare I use. I have even had my son spend the night there when I gave birth to my daughter and the only question he had was when you could spend the night again. Her youngest daughter is my son’s age.

WARNING: DO NOT ATTEND La Petite Academy. I had 4 of my children in the school located at La Petite Academy at the facility located at 10190 Calle Comercio Boca Raton, FL 33428 I brought complaints to management that went over looked from, toilets over flooded, giving my toddlers other kids pacifiers and bottles, allowing my toddlers to roam on a cold floor with no shoes or socks, not cleaning my children properly leaving feces on their genital area while placing a fresh diaper on the child, losing my children clothes, not ensuring my children were eating daily, No consistency with teachers so when an event occurs the teachers say”i dont know i just got here” in addition to lack of management and no respect for parents wishes. As a result of making complaints with no action taken I made a formal complaint to the health department and their corporate office. Their resolution was to make bias accusations against me saying the staff feared me and is uncomfortable with my presence. I guess caring about your kids is not tolerated with La Petite. If your looking for a day care and you :::::DONT:::: care about your kids well being then La Petite is the school for you. Please tell all your family and friends how unethical and unprofessional they are and lets try to hurt them in their wallet where it hurts.
