This week, I met a friend of my youngest child, who promptly introduced me to "Buddy," his very bestest friend in the whole wide world (his 4-year-old words, not mine). The problem was, Buddy was nowhere to been seen--or heard--for that matter. Just when I was thinking I must be overly-tired or needing a vision check, his mom explained that Buddy was an imaginary friend. Should Buddy's parents be worried? Relax, say researchers.
