Aack! A Sick Kid And School or Child Care Creates Family Dilemma

Saturday August 28, 2004
I work outside my home two days each week, and invariably it is one of those two days when one of my children gets sick. It's already happened to me twice this school year! Sometimes, I have to decide whether a kid with an upset tummy or a headache means pack 'em up or keep them at home, and I have erred many times through the years in my decision of what to do. Here are some tips and signs to watch for to determine if your child is too sick for school or daycare. And, providers and teachers alike will thank you to NOT bring a sick child and expose the others. If you have thoughts or comments about sick kids and care, express them on the Child Care Forum.
