Child Safety: Tips For Ensuring New School Year Begins Safely

Saturday August 14, 2004
It's simply a matter of Murphy's Law: If I'm running late for school and child care drop-off in the morning, then it is absolutely guaranteed I will get behind one of several yellow school buses that wind themselves around our neighborhood. After all, I applaud the bus drivers for safely transporting school children across the nation each year, and the last thing they need is one impatient woman driver behind them. What else should parents consider in terms of child safety this school year? Here are suggestions for ensuring that motorists, parents and children alike begin the school year on a safe note.
