Public School Teachers May Continue To Lead Recitation Of The Full Pledge Of Allegiance
Monday June 14, 2004
The full Pledge of Allegiance--complete with the phrase "under God"--will continue to be recited in the nation's public schools. The Supreme Court ruling was delivered on Flag Day (June 14). The Pledge case reversed a lower-court decision that teacher-led recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools was unconstitutional. The decision will most certainly be a hot topic of discussion in public school settings and amongst providers of child care across the nation.
